Spinal stimulator tested to stop deadly brain spasms

NCT ID NCT05150002

Summary

This study tested a new approach to control a dangerous complication after a severe brain bleed. It aimed to see if gentle electrical stimulation of the spinal cord in the neck could relax tightened brain blood vessels (vasospasm) and improve blood flow. The trial was a small, early-stage proof-of-concept study that was terminated after enrolling only one participant.
