Can a tiny camera save your spine from fusion?

NCT ID NCT06904326

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a newer, less invasive back surgery called unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) keeps the spine stable after removing bone or tissue that presses on nerves. Researchers will check stability with moving X-rays 3 months after surgery in 400 adults aged 50 and older. The goal is to see if this gentler approach can avoid the need for a more serious fusion surgery.
