Spinal shot could revolutionize surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT06666985

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a single morphine injection into the spinal fluid during surgery provides better pain relief and recovery compared to standard pain medications alone. Researchers will compare the spinal injection against a sham (fake) procedure in 700 adults having major laparoscopic abdominal surgery. The main goal is to see if this approach improves patients' quality of recovery in the first day after surgery.
