Spinal stimulation trial hopes to restore movement in paralyzed patients

Summary

This pilot study tests if electrical stimulation of the spinal cord can help people with long-term spinal cord injury regain movement and function. Five participants will receive a spinal cord stimulator implant and undergo three phases of stimulation over 9 months, targeting the injury site and lower spinal cord. The goal is to improve standing, walking, and quality of life.
