Can a simple switch in anesthesia stop post-surgery shivers?

NCT ID NCT07564180

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study aims to find out which spinal anesthetic—bupivacaine or prilocaine—better prevents shivering after inguinal hernia repair. About 80 adults aged 20 to 60 will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two medications during surgery. Researchers will measure shivering using a standard scoring system to see if one drug leads to fewer shakes.
