Study tests which spinal anesthetic lets hernia patients pee faster

NCT ID NCT07262398

Summary

This study compared two different spinal anesthesia drug combinations used during hernia surgery. Researchers wanted to see which one allowed patients to urinate on their own more quickly after the operation, which is important for same-day discharge. The trial involved 70 male patients having elective hernia repair, who were randomly assigned to receive either prilocaine or bupivacaine, both mixed with fentanyl.
