Spider study reveals how long fear relief lasts
NCT ID NCT06255821
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at how long the benefits of a single spider exposure session last in people with spider fear. 59 participants were tested right after exposure and then again at one week, six weeks, or three months later. Researchers measured how close they could get to the same spider and a new spider, along with their fear, disgust, and heart rate. The goal was to see if fear reduction spreads to new spiders and how long it lasts.
