Scientists test drug cocktail to slow debilitating nerve disease
NCT ID NCT02314208
Summary
This study tested three different drugs to see if they could reduce the buildup of harmful cholesterol-related chemicals in people with a rare, inherited nerve disease called SPG5. The trial involved 12 adult patients who took the drugs for two months. The main goal was to see if the treatments could lower these damaging chemicals in the blood, which might help control the progression of the disease.
