Next-Generation CT scanner put to the test in patients

NCT ID NCT07661706

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is collecting data to see how well a new type of CT scanner works in a hospital setting. Adults who need a CT scan of the neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, or limbs may be eligible. Participants will have an extra research scan using the investigational scanner, matched to their regular medical scan. The goal is to check if the new scanner produces usable images and to track any safety issues.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help improve CT imaging technology, potentially leading to clearer or more detailed scans for diagnosis.

What could go wrong

This is an early data-collection study, not a treatment trial. It may not lead to any immediate clinical improvements, and the new scanner may not prove better than current methods.
