First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested a new type of PET-CT scanner that can scan a removed tumor right after surgery to see if any cancer cells are left at the edges. 57 adults with prostate or head and neck cancer took part. The goal was to see if the scanner results match the standard lab test, which could help surgeons remove all cancer in one operation and avoid extra treatments.
