First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study will use wearable devices to measure breathing, heart rate, and oxygen levels in 120 people with a tracheostomy who are trying a speaking valve for the first time. The goal is to find out which patients can tolerate the valve well and how it affects their body, with the hope of improving the process of removing the tracheostomy tube. Participants must be stable, not on a ventilator, and have a clear airway.
