Could fewer eye injections work just as well for wet AMD?
NCT ID NCT04932980
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether people with wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) can start with longer breaks between eye injections instead of the usual three monthly shots. It compares two drugs, aflibercept and brolucizumab, to see if they are equally effective at drying the retina and reducing the total number of injections needed over a year. About 80 adults aged 50 and older with active wet AMD are taking part.
