Sound waves vs. hardened arteries: new device tested for leg pain

Summary
This study tests a new device that uses sound waves to break up hard calcium deposits in the leg arteries of people with peripheral artery disease (PAD). About 110 adults will receive a minimally invasive procedure and be followed for 6 months. The goal is to see if the device safely opens blocked arteries and improves blood flow.
