NCT ID NCT05955326
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a drug called sovateltide in 160 people who have had an ischemic stroke (a stroke caused by a blood clot). The goal is to see if the drug helps patients recover better and is safe. Participants receive either the drug or a placebo within 24 hours of their stroke, and researchers track their recovery over time using standard disability scales.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Sovateltide (also called IRL-1620, PMZ 1620, Tycamzzi, Tyvalzi)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a new treatment to help people recover better after an ischemic stroke, potentially reducing long-term disability.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small Phase IV trial, and previous results may not hold up. The drug is still experimental, and side effects or lack of benefit are possible.
