First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested whether different types of sounds (nature, city, white noise, or silence) can improve mood, stress, and anxiety in people with fibromyalgia. 72 adults aged 18-64 with fibromyalgia and normal hearing took part. Each person listened to all four sound types in random order during four weekly visits, rating their feelings before and after. The goal is to find a safe, low-cost way to ease emotional distress in fibromyalgia.
