Trial tests which gel soothes throat after surgery
NCT ID NCT07256834
Summary
This study aims to find out if a steroid gel (betamethasone) or a numbing gel (lidocaine) is better at preventing a sore throat after surgery when applied to the breathing tube. Researchers will enroll 60 adults having planned surgeries. They will check for and measure the severity of sore throats at 6 and 24 hours after the procedure.
