Gum graft showdown: your own tissue vs. Lab-Made material for better implants
NCT ID NCT07371481
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests two ways to thicken gum tissue around dental implants in the lower back jaw: using a piece of the patient's own gum tissue (connective tissue graft) or a man-made collagen material. About 46 adults with thin gums will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods during implant surgery. Researchers will measure changes in gum thickness, width, and shape over 9 months to see if the collagen material works as well as the natural tissue graft.
