Less invasive jaw surgery may change face shape differently, study finds
NCT ID NCT07595978
First seen May 21, 2026
Summary
This study looked at 31 people with a type of jaw misalignment called skeletal Class III deformity. Researchers compared how the face's soft tissues changed after two types of jaw surgery: a minimally invasive approach and a conventional one. Using 3D imaging, they measured differences in facial features and airway size to see which method might lead to better cosmetic and functional results.

What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 31 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It measures changes in soft tissue, not long-term outcomes like pain or function.
