Could a simple salt drink help kids with pneumonia leave the hospital sooner?
NCT ID NCT06951347
Summary
This study tested whether giving children with pneumonia a daily oral rehydration salt solution for three days could help them recover faster and shorten their hospital stay. Researchers compared 140 hospitalized children, aged 1 month to 5 years, who either received the solution or did not. The goal was to see if this simple, low-cost addition to standard care could improve outcomes for a common childhood illness.
