Summary

This study looked at whether a toothpaste with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) can change the bacteria in your mouth better than regular fluoride toothpaste. 74 adults with mild gum disease (gingivitis) used the toothpaste for 12 weeks. Researchers checked plaque samples to see if the baking soda toothpaste led to healthier bacteria.
