Can school 'Link Workers' cure teen loneliness? new trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07154225
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests a program called Social Prescribing for teens who feel lonely. Instead of a doctor, a school-based 'Link Worker' helps them find local activities and support groups. About 215 students from 30 English schools will either get this program or just a list of resources. Researchers will track their loneliness, mental health, and well-being for a year to see if the program works and is worth the cost.
