Brain scans may reveal who beats social anxiety

NCT ID NCT05683223

First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether brain scans can predict which adults with social anxiety disorder will respond well to group therapy. Researchers will scan the brains of 190 anxious adults before and after 12 weeks of cognitive behavioral therapy. A group of 50 people without social anxiety will also be scanned for comparison. The goal is to understand treatment success, not to test a new drug or cure.
