First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested whether sending text message reminders increases colorectal cancer screening among 45-49 year olds. Over 6,700 residents were randomly assigned to receive either a text invitation or standard notification. The goal was to see if simple SMS reminders could encourage more people to complete a fecal occult blood test (FIT) at home.
