Brain training boosts Quit-Smoking success?

NCT ID NCT07025772

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to help people stop smoking by combining standard quit-smoking programs with a computer task that retrains unconscious urges toward cigarettes. About 300 adults who want to quit will be split into three groups: one gets the standard program plus the real brain-training task, another gets the standard program plus a fake version, and a third gets only the standard program. Researchers will check if adding the brain-training task leads to more people staying smoke-free for at least 7 days and for longer periods.
