New app aims to help black HIV patients kick the habit

Summary

This study tests whether a culturally tailored smartphone app can help Black adults with HIV quit smoking and manage anxiety or depression. About 300 participants will be randomly assigned to use the ESCAPE app, the standard quitSTART app, or just receive nicotine replacement therapy. The goal is to see which approach works best for quitting smoking and improving overall health.
