Scientists map how laser surgery changes your Eye's wiring
NCT ID NCT07260786
Summary
This study aimed to understand how two common laser eye surgery procedures (SMILE and LASEK) affect vision quality and how the eye's visual pathways respond. Researchers followed 100 patients with moderate nearsightedness who chose either SMILE or LASEK surgery, measuring their vision clarity, contrast sensitivity, and eye nerve signals at different ages. The goal was to learn how these surgeries affect the eye-brain connection and whether certain age groups respond differently.
