Your watch as a Pre-Op nurse? study tests smartwatch accuracy before back surgery

NCT ID NCT07322523

Summary

This study aims to see if data from a Samsung smartwatch—like heart rate, blood pressure, sleep quality, and anxiety levels—is as accurate as standard medical equipment when used on patients waiting for disc herniation (back/neck) surgery. It will involve 60 adults who are scheduled for surgery and are willing to wear the watch overnight before their operation. The goal is to validate if this common wearable technology could be a useful tool for monitoring patients in the pre-surgery period.
