Apple watch trial aims to keep heart patients out of hospital
NCT ID NCT07411170
Summary
This study is testing whether using data from wearable devices like the Apple Watch can help doctors remotely manage medications for people with both heart failure and atrial fibrillation. The goal is to see if this approach leads to better medication adjustments and fewer hospital readmissions compared to standard care. About 400 participants who have recently been hospitalized will be randomly assigned to either use the wearable monitoring system or receive usual follow-up care.
