Can your phone ease that ringing in your ears? study tests app vs. doctor visits

NCT ID NCT07324603

Summary

This study tested whether counseling delivered through a smartphone app could be as helpful as traditional in-person counseling for people with chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Forty-two adults with long-term tinnitus received the same counseling program, either via a 6-week app or in face-to-face sessions. Researchers wanted to see if the convenient app could reduce the distress and impact of tinnitus just as well as meeting with a counselor.
