High-Tech insoles step in to speed up hip surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07448792

Summary

This study tested a new wearable insole system designed to help people recover their walking ability after hip replacement surgery. It involved 200 adults who were randomly assigned to use either the new smart insoles, a different commercial system, or just standard rehabilitation exercises for six weeks. The main goal was to see if the new, potentially more affordable insoles were at least as good as existing methods at improving walking patterns, hip function, and safety during recovery.
