Can less radiation bring the same pain relief? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT06884332

Summary

This study is testing whether using smaller radiation fields to treat painful spinal bone metastases can provide the same pain relief as standard treatment while potentially reducing side effects. Researchers will compare two approaches: standard radiation that includes adjacent vertebrae versus a more targeted approach that spares them. The goal is to maintain pain control while minimizing radiation exposure to healthy tissue, which could improve quality of life for patients with advanced cancer.
