Small stitches vs. big stitches: which heals emergency surgery wounds better?

NCT ID NCT07154277

Summary

This study compares two ways of stitching up the belly after emergency surgery. Researchers want to see if using many small stitches leads to fewer wound problems like infections or hernias than using fewer, larger stitches. About 200 adults having emergency abdominal surgery will be randomly assigned to get one stitching method and then followed for six months to check their healing.
