Stitch size showdown: can smaller stitches stop surgery wounds from falling apart?

NCT ID NCT07154277

Summary

This study is testing whether using smaller, more frequent stitches is better than larger stitches for closing the main incision after emergency abdominal surgery. Researchers will compare the two techniques in 200 patients to see which one leads to fewer wound infections, wound openings, and hernias. Patients will be followed for six months after their surgery to track their healing and any complications.
