Stitch size showdown: can smaller stitches prevent wound problems after belly surgery?
NCT ID NCT07621926
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether using smaller stitches (5 mm apart) works better than larger stitches (10 mm apart) for closing the main belly wound after surgery. 88 adults who had midline belly surgery took part. The goal was to see if the small stitch technique lowers the chance of wound infection or the wound reopening. Participants were checked at 2 weeks and 1 month after surgery for any wound complications.
