New transplant technique uses smaller liver pieces
NCT ID NCT07247877
Summary
This study is comparing two liver transplant methods for people with severe liver complications from high blood pressure in the liver's main vein. Researchers are watching 396 patients to see if using a smaller piece of a donor's liver (leaving part of the patient's own liver) is as safe and effective as a standard full liver transplant. The goal is to find out which approach helps patients live longer with fewer complications.
