Researchers map hidden lung damage in fatal fibrosis

NCT ID NCT07312305

Summary

This study aims to understand how often and how severely small airways are affected in people newly diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), a serious scarring lung disease. Researchers will observe 100 patients, using a special breathing test to measure small airway function at diagnosis and again after one year of standard treatment. The goal is to gather knowledge about this aspect of IPF to potentially inform future care, not to test a new treatment.
