One pill could cure devastating sleeping sickness

Summary
This study tested a new oral drug called acoziborole as a potential cure for African sleeping sickness (gambiense HAT). 208 patients with either early or late-stage disease received just three tablets as a single dose. Researchers followed patients for 18 months to see if the single treatment successfully cured the infection and was safe.
