First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested a single oral dose of a drug called acoziborole in children aged 1 to 14 with sleeping sickness (g-HAT). The goal was to see if this simple pill could safely and effectively treat the disease, replacing current treatments that require painful injections and hospital stays. If successful, it could make treatment much easier for children in remote African communities.
