Rare condition linked to poor sleep? study investigates body temperature connection

NCT ID NCT05378932

Summary

This study aimed to understand if people with a rare genetic condition called hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED) have worse sleep than others. HED often causes an inability to sweat, which may affect the body's ability to cool down and regulate sleep. Researchers compared sleep patterns, body temperature, and melatonin levels in 22 people with HED against healthy volunteers, mostly from their families.
