Sound sleep therapy may fight memory loss and Alzheimer's

NCT ID NCT07529015

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether playing specific sounds during deep sleep can improve memory and lower a key Alzheimer's protein (p-tau217) in people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). About 114 participants, including those with MCI and healthy older adults, will have their sleep monitored over several nights while receiving the sounds. The goal is to see if this simple, non-invasive approach can strengthen sleep-related memory processes and potentially slow Alzheimer's-related changes.
