Scientists probe sleep Deprivation's hidden hormone havoc

NCT ID NCT04037605

Summary

This study aims to understand how not getting enough sleep changes stress and sex hormone levels in healthy older adults. Researchers will monitor 5-10 participants in a sleep lab, restricting their sleep to 4 hours per night for 4 nights while measuring hormones, thinking skills, hunger, and food cravings. The goal is to learn the biological links between poor sleep and health risks like insulin resistance.
