Military study seeks blood clues to Post-Surgery pain and sleeplessness

NCT ID NCT03850743

Summary

This study aimed to understand why sleep problems and pain are so closely linked, especially after surgery. Researchers followed 111 active-duty military members having orthopedic surgery, collecting their blood samples and survey answers over time. The goal was to find biological markers in the blood that might predict who is most at risk for long-term pain and sleep issues, to guide future treatments.
