Can a brain chemical predict Post-Surgery 'Brain Fog' in seniors?

NCT ID NCT07392840

Summary

This study aims to understand why some older adults experience thinking and memory problems after surgery. Researchers will look at 50 patients over 65 having leg surgery with spinal anesthesia to see if poor sleep before surgery and levels of a brain chemical called MCH are linked to these recovery issues. The goal is to find early warning signs, not to test a treatment.
