Zapping sleep apnea? new device trial tests gentle throat stimulation

NCT ID NCT07396649

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether a non-invasive device that delivers gentle electrical stimulation to throat nerves can help keep airways open during sleep for people with obstructive sleep apnea. Researchers will check if participants can tolerate the stimulation while sleeping and whether it reduces breathing interruptions. The study involves 15 adults with moderate sleep apnea who will try the device during sleep tests over five months.
