Researchers test new nerve spot for sleep apnea implants

NCT ID NCT03985527

Summary

This small study tested whether placing a nerve stimulation wire in a different vein location affects breathing patterns during sleep apnea device implants. Researchers monitored 29 adults with moderate to severe central sleep apnea while they received standard implantable breathing devices. The goal was to gather basic information about how stimulation placement affects airway function, not to test a new treatment.
