Doctors use ultrasound to peek at Kids' breathing muscles during surgery

NCT ID NCT07380321

Summary

This study aims to understand how a child's breathing muscle, called the diaphragm, works before and after surgery. Researchers will use a safe, non-invasive ultrasound to measure the diaphragm in 60 children aged 1-12 who are having ear, nose, and throat surgery. They want to see if the diaphragm works differently in kids suspected of having sleep apnea compared to kids without it.
