First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study is testing a new device that uses sound waves to break up calcium buildup in the carotid arteries (the main arteries in the neck) before placing a stent to open them. About 185 people with hardened neck arteries will be enrolled. The main goal is to see if the procedure is safe, measuring complications like death, stroke, or heart attack within 30 days.
