Cuddle power: Skin-to-Skin after C-Section may lower baby stress

NCT ID NCT07109076

First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether placing a newborn directly on the mother's chest right after a planned C-section helps the baby adapt to life outside the womb. Researchers will measure heart rate patterns in 80 full-term babies and their mothers to see if skin-to-skin contact reduces stress. The goal is to understand if this simple practice improves newborn well-being in the first hours after birth.
