First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study compares two types of stitches used to close the skin after open carpal tunnel release surgery: one that dissolves on its own and one that needs to be removed. About 116 people who need surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome will be randomly assigned to one stitch type. The main goal is to see which stitch leads to a better-looking scar one year after surgery, based on patient and doctor ratings.
