Light therapy trial targets common skin cancer

NCT ID NCT03573401

Summary

This study is testing a light-based treatment called photodynamic therapy (PDT) for superficial basal cell carcinoma, a common type of skin cancer. Researchers are comparing a medicated gel (Ameluz) used with a special red light lamp to a placebo gel to see which is better at clearing the cancer. The goal is to see if this non-surgical treatment is safe and effective for removing these skin lesions.
